Final Lumion Images

Final 5 images:

This image reflects my theory through the visible continuation of large masses,
where the roundhouse that is parallel to my school takes advantage of its large envelope to create
automatic shade for inhabitants. Thus, exposing the "absence of novelty" by mirroring this technique
which shows an contemporary and innovative use of architecture to create a more sheltered space.

This image can be seen as challenging my theory of the absence of novelty in order to grasp contemporary work, through its contrast to its neighbouring spaces and buildings. Thus, shown by creating an informal area that is in-between open and closed spaces, being liminal in the context of an enclosure. Wherein, UNSW has various informal spaces although each one is either distinguished in a open or closed space where here my large mass forms that sit on top of each other, create an illusion of a closed space due to given shade and lack of obtrusive light.

This image takes an contemporary approach to the nexus between levels, where my custom texture draw your eye to the lower level of my school, creating a dynamic effect of volume by the repetition of the use of concrete, although being mundane it uses the neighbouring buildings texture/material as precedent to create a contemporary and distinctive staircase. Hereby, alluding to my theory of there being an absence of novelty.

This image shows the proportional quality of the building in the context of the UNSW Kensington Campus and Anzac Parade. Thus, mirroring how size mirrors my theory  "the absence of novelty is a tool of contemporary reliance", by creating a school that although matches the proportional qualities of the neighboring architecture, the use of elevation creates a dynamic approach to create shaded spaces that aren't apart of the actual architecture itself. Further creating a barrier to seasonal conditions that would be achieved without the reliance of the proportional qualities.

This image focuses on the skylight that brings this space to life, creating a seasonal and time dependent space. Although this idea isn't a novelty, fresh or new but rather a precedent that allowed me to use as a tool to create a distinctive and interesting contemporary space, where artificial light isn't navigating this space.

 Lumion Animation:

This element, being the envelope of a gallery space uses this movement to create a movement of ceiling space and allowing the space itself change, as when one walks into any space  the ceiling being high or low, gives you an indication of the spatial flow of the room. Thus, these moving elements create an absence of stability and allows the individual to be in a space that is spatially diverse and constantly evolving/moving.

Link to Theory:

This moving element demonstrates a link to my original theory "the absence of novelty is a tool of contemporary reliance" through the original precedent of evolution, as this aspect of my school spatial awareness is being evolved constantly, a source that I was reliant on to create a contemporary and significant experience for the inhabitant. Further mirrored in the image of the Guggenheim museum, where I took that curvaceous motion that creates a individual level as inspiration of an evocative experience that a gallery is supposed to create.

 Sketch-up Animation:

Through this Sketch-Up Animation/GIF it shows you how these walls that connect to a multi-levelled room create a new way to expose natural light. As these walls shift to different angles in order take advantage of natural light and shine in through this level with in itself holds two level, where the glass inside this space will further expose natural light to the lower levels of this space.

Link to theory:

This moving element creates a unusual yet distinctive way to get natural light into a space, where my theory is questioned through this being an unexpected exposure of light that is not a complete novelty but rather a novelty to the inhabitant itself, using the ideal of a non= visible wall that is a novelty as a tool to create a contemporary circulation of light.

Here I have taken this texture based on the theme of scalar translation, and manipulated in to be in two dimensions in order to further represent the theme of changing scalar dimensions.
